Without more volunteers soon, Parkersburg Ambulance may be forced to shut down. The Ambulance Service runs on volunteers, with some residents in the area needing to wait a half hour or more for an ambulance to come from another town or county. Butler County says a lack of volunteers is an issue across the county. It’s asking voters to approve an EMS property tax levy this November to pay for both equipment and training that it hopes could recruit more volunteers.
