The priest accused of sexually abusing multiple altar boys in Dubuque is pleading not guilty and demanding a speedy trial. Father Leo Riley is charged with five counts of sexual abuse. Prosecutors say Riley molested four altar boys while he served at Resurrection School from 1984 to 1986. Riley denies the allegations against him.

The Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office says firefighters recovered the body of a missing kayaker. Justin Limkemann disappeared on May 18 near the Freeport area. The Iowa DNR reported seeing a body near Lundy Bridge Monday afternoon.

Dubuque city leaders say Miller Riverview Park and Campground is closed to campers and pedestrians until further notice because of high river levels on the Mississippi. The city says it’s issuing refunds to campers unable to use their reservations.

The Benton County Auditor is suing the Benton County Board of Supervisors, arguing it is violating Iowa’s open meetings law. The auditor is looking for the board of supervisors to disclose recordings of what happened in a closed meeting in October after she was excluded from taking minutes at that meeting. A county staff member requested the board go into closed session for an employee evaluation during a regular board meeting. Multiple people have filed complaints with Iowa’s Public Information Board, and that board said the October 31 meeting failed to include the vote of members as required by Iowa code.

Police in Iowa City are asking for help as they investigate an armed robbery. Police say a man and woman robbed another man at knife-point while walking north on the nearby railroad tracks Monday night in the 1300 block of South Gilbert Street. No one was hurt.

Iowa craft beer brewers came together yesterday to launch a new beer as a part of the annual collaborative brew day. This year, Field Day Brewing in North Liberty was selected to collaborate with the Brewer’s Guild to make the brew which it will name, Yield of Dreams. It’s a lager made from Iowa corn, and will launch at the Iowa State Fair. More than 100 breweries in Iowa are part of the guild. It says this industry has brought Iowa more than half a billion dollars and hundreds of jobs.
