DES MOINES, Iowa (KXEL) – Former President Donald Trump won a record-setting victory in the Iowa Caucuses yesterday, gaining 51 percent of support from caucus-goers. The number tops the previous record in contested caucuses of 45 percent. In addition, Trump’s 21-point margin of victory smashed the previous record of 12 percent. Ron DeSantis edged Nikki Haley for second. After a fourth place finish, Vivek Ramaswamy suspended his campaign and endorsed Trump.

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – About half an hour after precincts closed the doors to begin caucus proceedings, several major media outlets called the race, without seeing results from many counties around the state. “It is absolutely outrageous that the media would participate in election interference by calling the race before tens of thousands of Iowans even had a chance to vote. The media is in the tank for Trump and this is the most egregious example yet.”– Communications Director Andrew Romeo. The AP says it came to that conclusion based on the counties that were reporting totals. They say they are “demographically and politically similar” to many other counties that haven’t yet reported. Those early results paired with their own polling of caucus-goers were enough to declare Trump the winner of the race.

WALCOTT, Iowa (KCRG) – Iowa 80 has served professional truckers and travelers for 60 consecutive years, providing a safe and welcoming place for those needing a break from the road. Iowa 80 Truckstop began as a small building with 6 diesel pumps and a 50-seat restaurant back in 1964. Then, in 1965, Interstate 80 was built, and before long thousands of truckers and travelers stopped by to fuel up and grab a bite to eat. In 1984, Standard Oil (now Amoco) decided to sell the gas station/diner to Bill Moon, who had already been managing the place for nearly 20 years. Since then, Iowa 80 has undergone 32 expansions and remodels, opening a multitude of restaurant options, truck washes, and even a trucking museum. Last year, Iowa 80 saw a record of 56,000 people come to the truckstop.
