The man accused of shooting and killing a grocery store worker in an unproved attack was arrested last Labor Day for causing a disturbance at a camp site. ‘Think Iowa City’ is calling for local artists to design Herky statues. It’s part of a tradition started in 2004 through ‘Think Iowa City’ and the University of Iowa. Herky on Parade showcases several Herky statues, uniquely designed and placed at various businesses and buildings around Iowa City, Coralville, and North Liberty. This year they are adding Solon and Tiffin locations. While the statues won’t be out until the Spring of 2024, local artists have until December 1 to apply and submit their designs for one of 75 Herky sculptures.
