After more than 10 years of research and development, the new insecticide active ingredient from Syngenta, PLINAZOLIN® technology, is available for Iowa’s growers to use.
Scott Johnson, U.S. product lead row crop insecticides with Syngenta, says that after federal and state registrations in late 2025, this was the first year farmers could use the new technology.
Johnson says that initial feedback has been very promising.
PLINAZOLIN technology is being marketed through multiple products, and for Iowa farmers Syngenta’s soil-applied product Opello™ is available as a new tool for corn rootworm control.
