A man is accused of leading Iowa State troopers on a high speed chase in Johnson County. Troopers say they saw Quintrell Bramow make several inappropriate lane changes Tuesday while driving west on Interstate 80 in Coralville. Court documents say the suspect drove more than 100 miles an hour at one point on I-380. The chase went into North Liberty, where police say Bramow ran a red light and passed several times in a “no pass” zone. He then drove onto South Jones Boulevard where he got out of the car and ran into a cornfield. Officers arrested him there.  Bramow faces several charges including felony eluding, reckless driving and interference with official acts. The Iowa State Patrol says he was wanted in Black Hawk County for an interference charge.

Crews rescued a woman from the Mississippi River in Dubuque. Firefighters say someone at River’s Edge plaza called 911 just before 2 in the afternoon after spotting the woman screaming for help. Crews arrived to find her in the main navigation channel across from the plaza. She was taken to the hospital and is expected to fully recover.

Cedar Rapids says it is creating a sculpture park on May’s Island, between the Linn County Courthouse and Veterans Memorial building. Cedar Rapids Bank and Trust announced it is sponsoring the first sculpture, which is expected to be installed in 2028. Mayor Tiffany O’Donnell says she supports for public-private partnerships to fund projects like this that help drive people downtown. The city will conduct a nationwide search for artists. And coming this spring, the city says it will work on improvements to the plaza, gazebo, and walkways.
