China, China, China
Well, why not…the 2016 election was tagged with claims of “Russia, Russia, Russia” collusion…now, thanks to the President’s release of information last night, comes assertions that China was involved in trying to influence the 2020 election.
That’s not the first time we heard a major political figure say China was involved in the 2020 outcome…in fact, Joe Biden said the same thing during a debate with Donald Trump in 2020. Putting together all the pieces, it seems like Biden got information leaked by government sources…the same sources who apparently were keeping such information from Trump—the sitting president at the time.
Obviously, those on the left will deny any of this as being true, no matter how many emails, texts, and documents are released. They said as much yesterday in public statements before the President spoke.
And even some analysts on the right admitted that what the President revealed could have been summarized in an email or a series of social media posts.
But will speaking directly to the people with receipts in hand like this spur “we the people” to put more pressure on our Senators to pass laws regarding voter identification and the like? It’s one thing to say it’s needed…it’s another to provide specific evidence of why, and showing how one of our competitors on the world stage—or, if you will, one of our enemies—worked to influence the election outcome is the best way to do that.
Given how poorly the Senate has responded in the past 18 months, I’m not sure anything will move them to agreement…the only thing they seem to agree on is when to leave town for a break. And they have a five week one coming up, starting one week from today.
