Prosecutors charged 19-year-old Kyle Ward of Marion with several charges including felony eluding, speeding and careless driving. Police say officers tried stopping a motorcycle and pickup truck Wednesday night that had been recording dangerous motorcycle stunts on the road. The pickup stopped, but Ward drove away on the motorcycle. A state police plane kept track of him and led police to where he had stopped. They arrested him in a parking lot.

Today is the first day pop-up fireworks vendors can start selling their products in Cedar Rapids. But you’ll need to wait before setting them off. Last year, people in Cedar Rapids could buy fireworks within the city limits, but they couldn’t set them off due to a city ban. But now that Governor Kim Reynolds signed a law to eliminate these bans, each city has its own ordinances concerning the sale and use of fireworks. It’s best to check out your city’s web site for the details.
