MARQUETTE, Iowa (KCRG) – One person suffered minor injuries after a train hit their truck. Mar-Mac Police say the crash that happened Sunday around 2:14 p.m. Police say the driver of a Chevrolet Silverado did not stop at a posted stop sign, and a Canadian Pacific Kansas City train hit it. It happened at the River Way railroad crossing in Marquette. Emergency responders took the driver, who was from Prairie du Chien, to Crossing Rivers Health with minor injuries. Police say the train was going 17 miles per hour at the time due to nearby Memorial Day festivities. The established speed limit in that area is usually 25 miles per hour.

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Cedar Rapids Police are investigating after a shots fired incident early Sunday morning.  Authorities said they received reports of shots fired in the 200 block of 2nd Ave. SE and officers were dispatched around 1:30 a.m. Officers on the scene found evidence of shots fired but observed no damage and said no victims were located. Police said a large group of people were in the area and law enforcement partners assisted CRPD in dispersing the crowd. Officials said this is an ongoing investigation and any witnesses are asked to contact CRPD.

DUBUQUE, Iowa (KCRG) – Dubuque firefighters say a boat is totally destroyed after catching on fire Saturday morning. Firefighters responded to the American Marine around 11:10 a.m., after the owner of the boat called saying their boat was on fire. Responders found heavy smoke and flames coming from the boat, and extinguished the fire within 15 minutes. No one was injured, but there was some minor damage to nearby boats and the covered marina. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Dubuque Fire Department.

ALLAMAKEE COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG) – Officials have released the name of the person who died after an ATV accident late Friday night. The Allamakee County Sheriff’s office said they received a report of a single-vehicle accident around 9:00 Friday night. It happened at the intersection of Paint Creek Drive and Ness Ridge Road near Waterville. Authorities said a Can-Am Maverick was traveling south on Paint Creek Drive when it hit a deer. The33-year-old driver lost control and struck an embankment and the ATV rolled on its side. A passenger, 33-year old Heather Lynn Jones of Raymond, Iowa was pinned under the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was treated at the scene. The accident remains under investigation.
