ELDORA, Iowa (Iowa’s News Now) — An Iowa Falls man was sentenced Friday to life in prison with no chance of parole for killing Desiree Folsom. Nathan Bahr was previously convicted of 1st Degree Murder. He was originally taken into custody three days after Folson was found shot dead in her apartment in the 1400 block of 17th Avenue in Eldora. Bahr was captured in Arizona and returned to Iowa. Court records show he was the ex-boyfriend of Folsom, and the father of her two children. Folsom, a 25-year-old mother at the time of her murder, was killed by Bahr one day after a judge approved a protective order against him. During his trial, Bahr admitted to killing Folsom but argued that was never his intent. Taking the stand in his own defense, he told a jury that he had an “out of body experience.”
