MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (KCRG) -Two people have been arrested in Marshalltown after a man was found in a roadway with serious injuries and later died. Officers were called to the area of North 12th Avenue and Bromley Street around 5:45 Saturday morning. There they found 23-year-old Ezra Seymour of Tama on the road with traumatic injuries. Seymour was transported for medical care, but died. Two people were arrested early Sunday morning in connection with the case. Trequan Cosgrove of Marshalltown was arrested and is charged with murder in the first degree and felon in possession of a firearm. Jaimee Alcaraz-Gutierrez, also of Marshalltown, is charged with accessory after the fact. The Marshalltown Police Department and Iowa DCI are investigating.

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) -Cedar Rapids Police are investigating after a call came in regarding a potential stabbing. It happened near a Cedar Rapids apartment complex. Watch Command confirmed to KCRG-TV 9 that officers were called to the 1300 block of 15th Street SE around 10 p.m. Saturday night. That’s just outside the Oak Hill Manor apartments. That initial call came in for a disturbance and potential stabbing. One person with injuries was located, but how they received those injuries is still being investigated. That victim was transported to the hospital. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact the Cedar Rapids Police Department.

DUBUQUE, Iowa (KCRG) – A professional hockey player who starred on the Dubuque Fighting Saints team, has died at the age of 31. Investigators say Johnny Gaudreau died Thursday after a suspected drunk driver hit him. Gaudreau’s brother Matthew also died. The two were out riding bicycles in their hometown in New Jersey when they were hit by a vehicle. Gaudreau, also known as ‘Johnny Hockey,’ started his career with the Fighting Saints while going to school at Dubuque Senior High School. He scored the most goals on the team and led the Fighting Saints to the United States Hockey League championship in the 2010-2011 season.

NEWTON, Iowa (KCRG) – NASCAR is returning to the Iowa Speedway in 2025. The Iowa Speedway NASCAR race weekend kicks off on Aug. 2, 2024 for the Xfinity Series’ Hy-Vee Perks 250. The weekend will end on that Sunday with the Cup Series’ Iowa Corn 350 Powered by Ethanol. Tickets go on sale on Nov. 25. However, fans who attended this year’s race can renew their tickets on Nov. 7.
