CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Cedar Rapids Police say one person is dead after a motorcycle/car accident Friday night. Officials say the driver of a motorcycle hit a car making a left turn from 1st Ave. onto 27th St. NE. At approximately 8:47 p.m., Cedar Rapids Police and other crews responded and started life saving measures on the motorcycle driver, who was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead a short time later. The identity of the motorcycle driver is being withheld pending notification of family. No one else was injured. Officials are continuing to investigate the accident.

 

IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) – One person has been taken into custody after shots were fired in Iowa City. Iowa City Police responded to the 2000 block of Wayne Avenue just before 6 p.m. on Saturday for a domestic dispute involving a handgun. The victim told police Dayvon Long, 21, of Iowa City had fired a gun at her and left on foot. An investigation revealed Long had left and returned to his home. Police took him into custody after the building was evacuated. Long faces the following charges: Intimidation with Firearm, Going Armed with Intent, Four counts of Child Endangerment, Domestic Abuse Assault of Pregnant Person and Display/Use of a Weapon, Dominion/Control of a Firearm/Offensive Weapon by a Felon, Carrying Weapons, Assault While Displaying a Dangerous Weapon, Assault with Intent to Inflict Serious Injury, and Reckless Use of a Firearm.

 

BUCHANAN COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG) – One person is seriously injured after an incident involving a tractor Saturday morning. The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a personal injury report in the 2000 block of 170th Street just before 7 a.m. An investigation showed a male was trying to climb onto a tractor when he lost balance and fell backwards. While doing do, he moved the shifter on the tractor, causing it to roll forward. The man fell partially under the tractor as it was moving. He sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to the hospital.

 

QUASQUETON, Iowa (KCRG) – An 11-year-old suffered serious injuries after falling out of a moving vehicle on Wednesday, June 12. Just after 1 p.m, the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a personal injury report north of Quasqueton. An investigation showed the driver of the single-cab truck was traveling north on Quasqueton Diagonal Boulevard when the passenger door of the vehicle opened, causing an unrestrained child to fall out at speed. The child suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to the hospital. No other injuries were reported. The incident is under investigation and charges are pending.
