From the KCRG-TV9 Newsroom:
Former President Donald Trump has pleaded not guilty to an unprecedented 37-federal counts related to accusations he hoarded classified documents and refused government demands to give them back. But Iowa’s two Republican Senators say the government is applying two different standards of justice in America. Senator Chuck Grassley is highly critical of the Justice Department’s handling of his requests for more information into Hunter Biden’s business dealings and President Joe Biden’s involvement. Senator Joni Ernst says Donald Trump was careless with classified documents but says the indictment sows doubt in America’s institutions.
The Freedom Festival in Cedar Rapids kicks off today with its calendar full of events leading up to the 4th of July. A flag raising ceremony is set for today, then a flag retirement and BBQ tonight. The Tribute to Heroes will honor local heroes on Thursday night, then the Balloon Glow at Jones Park Saturday night.

Councilmember Dale Todd calls it a compromise.

People are advised to not enter or allow pets to enter the water. The closure will last indefinitely until water quality improves. Advisories are generally updated on the Fridays of each week.
