Mixing Business With Pleasure

If it seemed like Vice President Kamala Harris’ trip to Des Moines yesterday was somewhat hastily scheduled, it appears there was a reason for it…it was.

The woman just a heartbeat away from the presidency participated in a so-called abortion rights panel in Iowa’s capital city and declared that the state was on the front lines of the issue, given actions taken by the state legislature and attorney general.

As we understand it, the event was organized solely around her…it was not her joining something already scheduled. And what a happy coincidence that the pro-abortion event in Des Moines just happened to be the same day that her alma mater, Howard University, was playing in the first round of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament in…that’s right, downtown Des Moines.

So since she was in the neighborhood, the vice president and the second gentleman took in the game from a suite at the Wells Fargo Arena, and visited the locker room after the team’s loss to Kansas.

No word if she picked up something from Zombie Burger or shopped in Valley Junction while in town.

Oh, and since there was ostensibly a business reason for the trip, that pro-abortion panel, we the taxpayers paid for her flight…which was pretty clearly only scheduled so she could watch her team in March Madness.

To be clear this is nothing new…the president signed another executive order on gun control in California earlier this week, coincidentally near where he was speaking at an evening partisan fundraiser to rake in millions for Democrat causes.

Both sides do it, of course…but these are the latest examples of swamp monster behavior in Washington. Hope she enjoyed the game; I didn’t go because I was already paying for her ticket.
