New Sounds At Night
As you likely know, the final “Jim Bohannon Show” aired on KXEL last week. Mr. Bohannon ended his hall-of-fame broadcasting career due to health reasons, and we will miss his nightly presence very much.
Mr. Bohannon took a medical leave earlier this year, and so we have been thinking about what changes we would make to programming in the event he had to leave the program. We also took into account various comments you were kind enough to send.
For some time, we have heard from many of you who wished we had room to air all three hours of Todd Starnes’ national program, rather than just a single hour following the Mark Levin program. The end of the Bohannon program gives us that opportunity.
So starting tonight, the “Todd Starnes Show” can be heard in its entirety, all three hours, from 8 to 11 p.m.—same start time, but the full dose of common sense conservatism that Todd and his crew bring you from their home base in Memphis.
For some time, we have heard from many of you who enjoy the “Bill O’Reilly Update” at the end of my “KXEL Live & Local” program each morning. So we added the “O’Reilly Morning Update” shortly after 8 a.m. each weekday, and later, the “O’Reilly Weekend Update”. Now, we have the opportunity to bring you Bill’s daily one hour program, the “No Spin News” as well…it will air right after Todd Starnes, and right before Red Eye Radio…at 11 p.m.
We made these changes so that the programming is as similar to what you enjoyed with Jim Bohannon’s show as possible. We hope you enjoy the changes.
So to recap…Mark Levin live from 5 to 8 p.m., the full “Todd Starnes Show” now from 8 to 11 p.m., and Bill O’Reilly’s “No Spin News” from 11 p.m. to midnight, every weeknight.
Bohannon’s departure and Starnes’ expansion means we will have to make some changes to the weekends, as well…but I have a few days to work on that.
