All About The Family
I did not watch “The Sopranos” nor have I seen any of “The Godfather” movies.
I have sort of jokingly referred to “the Biden Crime Family” at times, as information about shady family business dealings was reported.
After an off-hand comment made this week by the President, however…I’m not sure it’s a joke.
You’ve heard about it…he was in Florida surveying hurricane damage, and in conversation with a local mayor, said, “No one f***s with a Biden.” (Of course, he used the full word.)
The profanity notwithstanding, the arrogance of the statement is striking. For example, imagine a character from one of those gangster shows or movies saying something similar—“No one f***s with a Corleone” or “No one f***s with Tony Soprano”.
Easy to imagine. So is the leader of a family who is referred to in emails about laundering money as “the big guy” taking family honor to the extreme—as in, “No one f***s with a Biden.”
Guessing Putin and Xi are now reassessing their ambitions in the wake of that threat.
Here’s the potentially dangerous part…so much of the political fighting these days is personal with Mr. Biden…and when you elevate yourself personally to such a level, you can let ego get in the way of making good decisions.
And heaven knows, we have enough concerns about his status as it is.
