Not About the Truth

I don’t know for sure what the January 6th Commission is supposed to be about, but it’s certainly not about getting to the truth. Getting to “a” truth, perhaps–that is, a narrative with carefully selected material used to support it.

My guess…and the guess of virtually anyone, on either side of the political aisle, who has watched even five minutes of these made-for-TV events…is that it’s designed to make sure Donald Trump never runs for President again–period.

Whether his reputation is so tarnished by what comes out, he’ll lose support–doubtful–or through making a case that he caused an insurrection against the government, which would constitutionally prohibit him from holding office again…the plan is to “get” Trump, just as those in power on the left have been trying to “get” him since he came down the escalator…with far too many in power on the right happy to watch them do it.

Yes, they are that scared of him…because they’re scared of you, the people. If the people ever get together and vote them all out, they lose power–and that’s the main reason some of them, far too many, are there. Trump emboldens the people, he upsets their comfy co-dependent relationship, so he has to be eliminated.

This is not a defense of any illegal activities that took place that day. But the real questions that exist…why did the Speaker not accept National Guard help when offered, how many entered the Capitol through doors opened by police, was there an organized FBI effort to encourage illegal activity…none of those will be answered by the commission.

And again, that proves there is one goal…and it’s not the truth.
