Whining and Moaning
The Iowa Hawkeyes are now ranked number 19 in the country…no, not in football, or basketball…but in terms of the list of colleges with a fanbase that complains the most.
Iowa is number 19 nationally for most fans who complain…and the survey from bookies.com shows they complain about the referees more than anything else.
Alabama is number 1 in football…and tops in number of fans who complain. Close behind, both Ohio State and Michigan of the Big 10…Buckeye fans complain about the refs, while Michigan fans use a so-called “victim mentality” as the source of their gripes.
Actually, within their conference, Hawkeye fans are the fifth biggest complainers in the Big Ten…behind Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, and Michigan State.
Cyclone fans, you aren’t left out…Iowa State ranked fifth in the Big Twelve in terms of highest number of complainers…behind Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and Texas Tech. Of course, when Texas and Oklahoma leave the conference, the Cyclones should move up two spots.
As a whole, the Big Ten has the second whiniest fan base, while the Big Twelve comes in at fourth place. Power five conferences, indeed.
So the next time your favorite Hawkeye fan whines and moans…they can’t help it. Numbers don’t lie.
