Build The Wall
Yesterday, on KXEL Live & Local, you heard me talk with former U.S. Border Patrol Chief Rodney Scott about the dangerous implication of this country’s current official policy on the southern border. I asked him directly if walls worked…then then pointed out all the ways that walls very much did work.
Also yesterday, I shared some information from a new Trafalgar Group survey, in partnership with the Convention of States Action group, about immigration and payments to those here illegally.
Now, some more data from that poll…that shows American voters agree with Chief Scott about doing something different on that southern border.
54.7 percent of more than 1,000 likely 2022 election voters say President Biden should close the southern border until a solution is reached to deal with the crises of migrant caravans, human trafficking, and drug smuggling.
Interesting to note that a majority of independents–52.3 percent—think the border should be closed, very close to the overall number. And that’s one of the key points of the survey.
Sure, Republicans overwhelmingly say to close the border. Barely a third of Democrats want a border. But when you’ve lost a majority of independents…well, that becomes a key voting bloc in a pivotal election.
