Told You So
I hate being one of those “I told you so” persons…and it’s not made any better if you take Sheldon Cooper’s approach and say, “I informed you thusly.”
But…not that long ago in this space, we talked about the phrase “fully vaccinated” with a caution that in order to continue to push on-going vaccinations on the American people, they might wind up changing the definition of “fully vaccinated” to include booster shots on a pretty regular basis.
Sure enough, the head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has now come out and floated the trial balloon…saying that “fully vaccinated” might mean something different in the near future than it used to. It used to mean both shots in the two-shot Pfizer or Moderna protocols, or the single-shot J&J vaccine. But soon, it might include a booster…and if they get away with that, look for it to include multiple boosters…and if they get away with that, look for them to start including flu shots, shingles shots…the attempt at control won’t stop.
What about those employers who required initial full vaccination…will they start expanding the definition if the CDC does? Given the number of people I’ve talked with who have gotten the initial shots but are swearing off any booster…how many more workers will be pushed out of their jobs?
This is not an anti-vax position…it’s an anti-illegal-mandate position. Lines need to be drawn…brightly and quickly…while they still can be, before government overreach makes it impossible.
