A Far Cry from Sis Boom Bah

We’re used to hearing stadium crowds break out in chants, typically led by aptly-named cheerleaders.

And we’re often moved by hearing crowds break out in chants of “U-S-A, U-S-A”. It all brings a special something to such events.

There’s a new spontaneous cheer breaking out at events across the country…college football games, major league baseball contests, even at a NASCAR Infinity series event this past weekend.

It’s more than a little profane, so I can’t repeat it here…but essentially, the crowds are picking times when the network TV cameras can’t avoid them…and they begin chanting “F Joe Biden”…except the F is replaced by…well, you know.

At the end of the auto race, the winner typically does a victory lap and collects the checkered flag at the start/finish line, and a live TV interview is done, with the audio also piped into the public address system at the racetrack so fans can hear.

At that very moment Saturday, when the eyes of the nation were squarely focused on that scene, a loud and sustained “F Joe Biden” chant went through the crowd, growing in size and volume. You couldn’t miss it on TV, and short of breaking off the interview, there was not much the poor reporter could do.

I hate to have the winner’s moment in the spotlight taken from them…but when opportunity knocks, you answer the door…or in this case, start the chant.

Yes, it’s coarse and not all that long ago, you’d never dream of thousands of people yelling that word in public.

But what does it say that when not censored by social media masters or other filters, that’s the phrase being chanted. Sounds like Democrats in Congress aren’t the only ones not thrilled with this president.
