A Tennessee state official in charge of vaccines was fired not long ago, and blamed it on the Republicans in state government. She had leaked an internal memo about whether adolescents can seek medical care, including a COVID vaccine, without their parents’ permission.
Dr. Michelle Fiscus went a step further, appearing multiple times on CNN to report that just before her firing, she received an Amazon package at her state office. The package contained a dog muzzle, which she said was anonymously mailed to her, to intimidate her and get her to stop speaking out on the topic of vaccinations.
That’s obviously a serious allegation, that someone was making a threat to a state official. So law enforcement began investigating. They got a subpoena, requiring Amazon to disclose information about who sent the package, right down to a credit card number.
Lo and behold…the credit card belonged to Dr. Michelle Fiscus herself. She ordered a dog muzzle and had it sent “anonymously” to herself, at her state office…then used it to claim she was being intimidated by outside parties.
State health officials said Fiscus was fired for poor interpersonal communication skills, ineffective management and attempting to steer state money to a nonprofit she founded.
I guess now you can add to that list “incompetence”–because if you’re going to say someone sent you a threatening package, maybe you should not use your own credit card to make the purchase.
