Polls are closed in Michigan, where voters are weighing in on a key Senate race.
There is a Senate showdown between Democratic candidate Abdul El-Sayed and Republican Mike Rogers. After coming up short by fewer than 20,000 votes in his 2024 race against Democratic Sen. Elissa Slotkin, Rogers is hoping to defeat El-Sayed. If El-Sayed is elected, he would be the first Muslim senator.
In the governor’s race, Democratic Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson is facing off against Republican Rep. John James to replace term-limited Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.
Down ballot, Michigan has three key U.S. House races — out of 13 total that voters will weigh in on — in the 4th, 7th, and 10th congressional districts.
