In addition to all three being charged with participation in a riot, Brand and McWilliams are also charged with assault.

CORALVILLE, Iowa (KCRG) – The Iowa Restaurant Association has named Chef Cory Barrett as its 2026 Chef of the Year. Barrett is the owner of Barrett’s Quality Eats in Coralville. Barrett has been a pastry chef in Las Vegas and Ohio, head chef at Michael Symon’s flagship Lola restaurant in Ohio, and chef at five-diamond Herbfarm in Washington state. He opened Barrett’s in 2022, known for its all-day brunch, bakery and cafe.  Winning Chef of the Year from the Iowa Restaurant Association is an incredible honor, but more than anything, it’s a celebration of what Iowa’s food scene is becoming,” Barrett said in a statement. “When we moved here to build Barrett’s, we saw an unbelievable opportunity—not just to open a restaurant, but to plant roots in a community that genuinely cares about good food, local sourcing, and warm hospitality. Bringing high-level craftsmanship back to Iowa isn’t about changing what Iowa is; it’s about showcasing how rich and vibrant our local food culture can be.” He will be awarded at an award showcase on October 19.
