Spring weather is always tricky for growers. On the one hand, after a dry winter, spring showers are needed to help replenish soil moisture. But on the other hand, too much moisture can disrupt field work and planting for farmers.

USDA meteorologist Brad Rippey says a mixed bag of precipitation will be the weather outlook for the period of April 7th to 13th.

Rippey says three weather systems are in place to affect the nation in early to mid-April.

He adds that many of the parts of the country that missed out on rainfall in March will be receiving beneficial rainfall. In addition, some late season wintry weather could be affecting the upper Midwest and northern reaches of the United States.
