Agriculture’s role in eastern Iowa will be recognized later this month as the annual Celebration of Ag event returns to Cedar Rapids. The event brings together farmers, agribusiness leaders, community members, and local officials to highlight agriculture’s importance to the regional economy.

April Isaacson says the event has become a longstanding tradition for the area.

Isaacson says the evening is designed to give attendees a chance to connect with others across the agricultural industry while celebrating the contributions agriculture makes to local communities.

One of the highlights of this year’s program will be the keynote address from Craig Culver, co-founder of the Culver’s restaurant chain. Isaacson says his story of building a successful business with strong community ties aligns well with the mission of the Celebration of Ag event.

In addition to the keynote address, the program will also feature remarks from state and local leaders, including Cedar Rapids Mayor Tiffany O’Donnell and Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig.

Isaacson says the event ultimately serves as a reminder of how agriculture supports communities and drives the economy across the region.

The Celebration of Ag will take place on March 25th in Cedar Rapids. Isaacson says tickets and tables are still available, but the registration deadline is approaching quickly. Attendees can register through the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance website or by contacting Isaacson directly.
