A Salute to Iowa Farm Families
Mark the date…four weeks from today, Wednesday, March 25…that’s the date for the first Farmer Appreciation Luncheon, sponsored by News/Talk 1540 KXEL and our companion station, AM 1330 and 107.3 HANK FM. It’s in conjunction with National Ag Day, and will be held at the National Cattle Congress Pavilion in Waterloo between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
And to salute those who produce the food and fiber we need, the lunch is on us—thanks to the folks at Beast and Bird in Vinton. All you have to do is go to kxel.com/farmer and get your free tickets; we just need to know how much food to have on hand. If the internet is not your friend, just text me at 319-235-1540 so we can get your name on the list.
As you heard yesterday on “KXEL Live & Local,” Iowa Secretary of Agriculture and Land Stewardship Mike Naig will deliver remarks…and Dustin Hoffmann of the Iowa Agribusiness Radio Network will be on hand to moderate a panel on key agriculture topics.
No one works harder, more consistently, with more out of their control than Iowa farm families. And too often, it goes without enough thanks or appreciation—and certainly, without enough profit.
That’s why we decided, in this small way, to say thanks for those efforts. Iowa farmers feed the world, quite literally…so lunch is on us.
Go to kxel.com for more information; the direct page is kxel.com/farmer. Again, it’s totally free, and open to farmers, farm families, and anyone who wants to join us to salute those folks.
And it’s four weeks from today, Wednesday, March 25…I hope to see you there, and hope we can make this an annual event.
