We’re Number One
Yesterday I shared with you research done by the personal finance website WalletHub…now comes a separate set of data, which says that Iowa is the state with the fewest coronavirus restrictions.
To come up with that, they compared the 50 states and District of Columbia across 14 key metrics, including whether restaurants are open, to whether the state requires face masks in public, workplace temperature screenings, and the like.
Iowa ranked tops in the nation for fewest restrictions in no fewer than 9 of the 14 categories.
Best in not being required to wear a face mask in public…best on fewest travel restrictions…best on fewest large gathering restrictions.
Tops in the country also in the fewest restrictions limiting the reopening of restaurants and bars, and reopening of non-essential businesses.
You won’t find anywhere else with fewer requirements for workplace temperature screening, or less state guidance on having to do customer health checks at restaurants.
We also have the fewest “shelter in place” restrictions…and fewest requirements for working from home.
Texas may have gotten the headlines yesterday for removing all restrictions on people’s lives there…but it sounds like we beat them to it. And our economic, mental, and yes, physical health is the better for it.
