CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (KCRG) – Cedar Falls Police arrested a 23 year old male early Sunday morning for reckless driving which resulted in an accident. Jordan Ford is facing multiple charged for allegedly driving a black Dodge Challenger at a high rate of speed, passing a vehicle and running a stop sign at the 100 block of West 4th Street. Police say Ford also allegedly turned southbound on Washington Street and continued at a high rate of speed and turned off his headlights. After he allegedly ran a stop sign at 12th and Washington, he struck two parked vehicles which disabled his vehicle and caused significant damage to the parked vehicles. The driver and a passenger were taken to local hospitals for evaluation. The injuries appear to be non-life threatening. The investigation is ongoing.
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – At 5:23 a.m. on Sunday morning, the Marion Police went to 1405 Meadowview Drive after they received a report concerning an assault with a weapon. After investigating, officers charged 32-year-old Nathan Dampier with kidnapping in the 3rd degree, domestic abuse-use of weapon, assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, and obstruction of emergency communications.
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – On Friday just after 1:00 a.m., Fayette County Sheriff’s Office responded to a crash near the area of 45th St. and R Avenue just north of Oelwein. When the Sheriff’s Office arrived at the scene, it was discovered the driver, 21 year old Cooper Ingels of Maynard, Iowa, was traveling northbound in a white 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty Truck. The driver lost control, entered the ditch and rolled multiple times. Both the driver and the passenger, 23 year old Adam Michels also of Maynard, Iowa, were ejected and sustained serious life-threatening injuries. Both occupants were transported to Oelwein Mercy Hospital where Ingels was pronounced dead. Michels was later transported to the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City for further treatment. This accident remains under investigation by Fayette County Sheriff’s Office Technical Investigation Team.
DUBUQUE, Iowa (KCRG) – On Saturday just before 6:00 p.m., Iowa State Patrol responded to a crash involving a 2011 Kia Forte and a 2021 Toyota Rav4 at US 61 North at the Iowa/Wisconsin Border in Dubuque. According to Iowa State Patrol, the Toyota Rav4 struck a wheelbarrow in the travel portion of the inside lane on the US 61 North Bridge. When the occupants of the Rav4 got out of the car to assess damage, they were stuck by the 2011 Kia Forte. One person was later pronounced dead, one person was airlifted to University of Iowa Health Clinic, and the other two who were injured were taken to UnityPoint Health Finley Hospital. Names at this time are withheld pending notifications and the accident remains under investigation of the Iowa State Patrol.
