Across the industry most analysts pointed to the October Cattle on Feed Report as mostly friendly, however the markets this week were anything but positive for the cattle trade. Both the live and feeder cattle markets experienced sizable losses for the week. Matt Bennett is the CEO and co-founder of AgMarket and he tells the Iowa Agribusiness Radio Network that trading in the cattle markets did not go as expected this week.
Bennett says this week’s trade was also unexpected because of the slow climb to the upside in the cattle market in recent weeks.
