After weeks of steady improvement, oil prices traded lower to start this week as they were down 4-5% in Monday’s trading action. Patrick DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst at Gasbuddy.com, said the markets are likely hopeful that the Trump administration is going to restart peace talks.
Fuel prices, however, continued to climb. Gasoline prices are up again across the country this week, with diesel prices remaining at an all-time high of $7.37 a gallon. There are still many questions about possible peace talks for both the U.S.-Iran war and the Russia-Ukraine war, but DeHaan said the calendar may provide consumers with some relief at the gas pump.
