The spotlights were shining bright on Des Moines from June 3-4 for the 2026 World Pork Expo at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. The highly anticipated event did not disappoint with attendees pouring out from all over the country. The two-day long event provided attendees with the opportunity to connect, learn and more importantly assess the current state of the industry while doing some prospective analysis. Brian Humphreys, CEO of National Pork Producers Council highlighted the meaning of this event for the industry as a whole.

Humphreys shared optimistic views regarding the future of the industry with tremendous opportunity on both national and international market.

When asked about producer sentiment about the farm bill, Humphreys was quick to emphasize how delighted they were with the bill making it through the House of Representatives with 100% of NPPC demands attended to. He also appeared hopeful for a similar scenario in the Senate with fixes to Proposition 12 included in it.
