The National Pork Board’s Retail Advisory Committee (RAC) meeting serves as a direct, industry-focused platform to connect retail leaders with key insights into the organization’s consumer campaigns and third-party consumer research. Neal Hull, NPB’s director of state and regional marketing, said it’s important not only to discuss how to move pork in the marketplace, but also to teach those within the industry how to get more consumers to eat more pork more often.

Hull said the Pork Checkoff is in a unique position, as it’s not focused on directly selling a product but rather on education and ultimately influencing the shopper’s decision.

The pork industry is rallying together to engage younger consumers. Hull said retailers recognize how critical this audience is by innovating pork SKUs offered, their location in the meat case, and mealtime inspiration.
