Year-round E15 and additional farm aid are not expected to be included in a new GOP party-line budget bill. United States Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) says that the reconciliation bill will not include relief for farmers.
According to Grassley, the White House has strongly advocated for separate legislation to replace munitions that were used in the war with Iran. Senator Grassley argues that the war funding bill would be the logical place to include additional farm aid and or permanent year-round E15 legislation.
After further questions from farm broadcasters and reporters, Grassley reiterated that year-round E15 won’t be part of the reconciliation bill and instead fits better into the war funding package.
Senate Majority Leader Thune has stated that he wants a skinny budget bill. Senator Grassley made his comments on Tuesday during his weekly ag conference call with farm broadcasters and reporters.
