A new facility in central Iowa will allow students, researchers, and other industry leaders to collaborate on the latest advances in seed production. Bayer recently announced the opening of the Seed Production Innovation (SPI) Innovation Center, located at the Iowa State University Research Park. ISU Research Park President Rick Sanders said this partnership will open up countless opportunities.
Sanders said the location makes total sense, as it places them in the middle of the nation’s top ag state and in close proximity to one of the world’s leading agricultural institutions.
Sanders said the center will host education programs and workshops, fostering collaboration with partners across the region and delivering practical, value-add scientific and engineering solutions aligned with Bayer’s Seed Production Innovation readiness and innovation priorities.
The building is also near Iowa State’s Digital Ag Innovation Lab, and together they are expected to accelerate collaboration in precision agriculture, automation, and data analytics while providing hands-on learning experiences for students.
