Today is National Ag Day, and Iowa farmers are a huge part of the nation’s ag industry. Iowa Congressman Randy Feenstra announced the Farmers for Feenstra coalition, a group of over 100 Iowa farmers who are committed to joining his efforts to make Iowa the most agriculture and business-friendly state. Congressman Feenstra, who is also running for Iowa Governor, said farmers deserve results at both the federal and state levels.
While Iowa already leads the country in several areas of agricultural production, Feenstra said there is still plenty of room for growth.
Feenstra said that Farm Bill 2.0, which made its way out of the House Ag Committee with bipartisan support, contains several wins that Iowa farmers have been looking for.
Feenstra said he is particularly excited about the FRIDGE Act, which would ensure that key export destinations overseas have the proper refrigeration equipment for U.S. meat and dairy products.
