A farmer appreciation luncheon taking place on Wednesday in Waterloo is designed to recognize the men and women who keep agriculture moving forward every day.

The event, hosted by KXEL Radio at the National Cattle Congress Pavilion, is free and open to the public and aims to bring farmers, families, and community members together around National Ag Day.

Jeff Stein with KXEL says the idea came from a simple desire to give something back.

The luncheon will be held on Wednesday, with food service beginning at 11:30 a.m. Organizers say the event will wrap up in about 90 minutes and will also include a panel discussion featuring agricultural leaders from across the state.

Those planning to attend are encouraged to reserve a free ticket in advance to ensure there is enough food. Reservations can be made at kxel.com/farmer.
