During the keynote speech at USDA’s Ag Outlook Forum last Friday, USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins announced that the applications for the farmer bridge assistance program would open ahead of schedule. The application process is now open as of Monday February 23rd, says Rollins.
Pre-filled applications will be available online for farmers who filed 2025 crop acreage reports for eligible commodities and have a Login.gov account.
Growers have until April 17th to submit completed farmer bridge assistance applications. In addition to applying online, producers can also request their pre-filled FBA application from their FSA county office.
Payments will be issued as applications are approved and will be calculated using a flat payment rate for the eligible commodity multiplied by the eligible reported acres. There will not be a payment factor. Payments are based on acreage and not production.
