New court documents show what led up to a shooting which sent a man to the hospital earlier this month in Cedar Rapids. Two women now face charges in the case after the shooting happened on November 8 in the 1800 block of A Avenue Northeast. Police arrested Faith Profit and Tatayana Mitchell Tuesday. Profit faces several charges including attempted murder. Mitchell faces an accessory charge. Court documents say the victim was returning to his apartment when Profit approached him. Police say the two talked briefly before Profit pulled out a gun and pointed it at the man’s face. He knocked the gun away before Profit pointed it at him again and fired three shots. The man had gunshot wounds to his left arm and under his left armpit. Court documents also say Mitchell was there with Profit at the time. She told police she had no knowledge of the shooting. But surveillance video shows Mitchell giving her own gun to Profit before the shooting.
