Shutdown Impact

The noted pollster Scott Rasmussen conducted research for Napolitan News last week on the federal government shutdown and who Americans believed to be at fault.

The results were interesting to me, because roughly the same number of people blamed Republicans, as blamed Democrats…and the same number blamed both parties equally as blamed either individually. In essence, of those three choices, it was tie…a completely split vote.

What I found most interesting, however, was that nearly a fifth of all surveyed…19 percent…said they were not aware of the shutdown. In other words, they could not blame either party because they didn’t know it was happening.

Now, regardless of any political issue you may raise, you will find a percentage of people—and sometimes a surprisingly high number of people—who say they have no knowledge.

But 19 percent of Americans don’t even know the government is in shutdown mode?

We keep seeing these political folks on TV from Washington, and so far a lot of regular folks are still getting paychecks or benefits. So perhaps it’s not as visible as other shutdowns have been.

But still…the fact that the government shut down nearly one month ago is fresh news to one out of every five persons.

I’ll let you draw your own conclusions…because frankly, my head hurts too bad to consider it further.
