Get Your Tickets
A few months ago, we asked you to ‘save the date’ for our fourth annual summer picnic, IowaFest…now, you can reserve your free tickets for our event online at kxel.com/iowafest.
It will be Saturday, August 2nd from noon until 3 p.m. at the National Cattle Congress Pavilion in Waterloo…same location as in the past. And as in the past, great food including a main course of Iowa pork cooked on site by Tyson Fresh Meats, side dishes from Hy-Vee, milk shakes from the Butler County Dairy Producers, and more. And as in the past…it’s free.
This year on the stage, we’ll have conversations with a number of folks you’ve heard on KXEL, and as a bonus, you’ll have a chance to meet each one and purchase copies of their books.
We’re pleased to feature Iowa radio hall-of-famer Van Harden to the IowaFest stage…Van spent 50 years on the radio, most of it at that other 50,000-watt radio station. He’ll have copies of his latest book, “Jesus: The Prequel,” and is looking forward to meeting you there.
We’re also expecting a visit from the Iowa Gallivant, JayJay Goodvin, who will have copies of his book, “Rural Iowa Sausage,” along with stories from traveling around our state.
Waterloo native Mike Chapman, the author of more than 30 books, will be there…as will David Welter, who has authored a quartet of books in the “Reflections from the Home Team” series.
Food, friends, and fellowship…and it’s free.
So we make sure we have enough food, reserve your free tickets now at kxel.com/iowafest. Everyone is welcome, and it’s an event for all ages, free from politics. Go to kxel.com/iowafest for more and to reserve tickets.
I know where I’ll be on Saturday, August 2nd…hope you’re there, too.
