Pushing Too Hard
U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth continues to be a target. First it was during his confirmation process, then for what he might have said in a supposedly private chat, now for…well, I truly don’t know, it sounds like the same thing only his opponents are saying it louder.
Normally, we’d expect the heat to be turned up to the point where it becomes a distraction, and the individual would choose to step aside—or be asked to step aside—so the agenda of the President can move forward.
But this President values loyalty above all else, and Hegseth by all accounts is fully loyal to him. That’s not to suggest he’s not qualified, or would violate laws or standards as part of that loyalty…but it remains a fact.
Those who want Hegseth out may have overplayed their hand…because the more they push to have him gone, the more President Trump stands behind him. Because, on a related note, with so many of the “old guard” as well as the political opposition wanting him out, it makes one wonder why…why is he such a threat to them that they are willing to sacrifice their own jobs and speak out, or leak?
Draining the swamp is not easy. Hegseth, by his own admission and resume, is not a politically correct sort. Combine that temperament, with being a “war fighter,” and with working for a President that wants to return the government to a time when it actually worked for its citizens…well, it’s not hard to see why so many want to see him back on Fox News Channel on weekends, instead of running the Pentagon.
So to those who are anti-Pete, keep it up—you’re only solidifying his job security with his boss, the Commander-in-Chief.
