Iowa election officials have certified the 2024 results, officially approving the totals from November. According to the Iowa Secretary of State, 74.1% of registered Iowa voters cast ballots. That’s just more than 1,674,000 people. That is below the record, just barely, of 75.8% turnout in 2020. While Democrats usually vote early and absentee more than Republicans, this year more than 268,000 Iowa Republicans voted early, compared to about 257,000 Democrats. There was an effort from GOP leadership nationally encouraging Republicans to vote early.
