The Next Generation

I saw a post on Twitter/X yesterday, noting the ages of some of those appointed by President-Elect Trump to key posts in the Trump 2.0 Administration.

Keep in mind that Trump himself is 78, and Kamala Harris emphasized how it was time for a younger generation in the White House; she made the case to be that, coming in at 60 years of age.

So how’s this for a bunch of youngsters:

Vivek Ramaswamy is 39.

J.D. Vance and Elise Stefanik at 40.

Matt Gaetz is 42

Tulsi Gabbard is 43

Pete Hegseth and Lee Zeldin are 44.

From a selfish perspective, for frame of reference, most of them were born as I was graduating from high school.

Someone else on the Twitter/X noted the ages of some of the Founding Fathers when the Declaration of Independence was approved. Granted, folks did not live as long back then as now, but how about this list:

James Monroe was 18, while Aaron Burr was 20 and Alexander Hamilton was 21.

James Madison was 25, while Thomas Jefferson was 33.

Then we get to the old guys—John Adams at age 40, Paul Revere was 41, and George Washington had reached the ripe old age of 44.

So basically, a good idea can come from anyone, at any age. But talk about a deep bench in Trump 2.0.

Can only imagine Cabinet meetings, where Trump will make a reference and the kids will text one another under the table, saying things like, “OK, Boomer.”
