Again—Why Now?
Yesterday, I asked why the federal government had worked out a plea deal with 9-11 terrorists at this point. Why resolve such an issue now?
Then came word of a multi-country prisoner swap, including the U.S. and Russia…and I have to again ask, why now?
The timing of these things are no coincidence. But is it all a distraction from other things the ruling class doesn’t want us to see?
I’m certainly glad Americans wrongly detained are free. But at what cost? We don’t yet know. And what about that situation changed so quickly? Obviously, there were on-going efforts to free Americans from Russia, but it seems like far more than a coincidence.
And as the Americans returned to U.S. soil last night, there stood the President and Vice President ready to greet them on the runway. That alone is likely no different than other Administrations would have done. But in this hyper-charged political world, having the Vice President right there obviously was designed to bolster her campaign.
Of course, if you are going to be there for the good things as an integral part of the administration, then you have to share ownership of everything the Administration has done; you can’t pick and choose what you were involved with because you are running for the top job. We’ll see if the Republicans can make that case to overcome the positive photo ops.
Beyond that, what does this Administration do for an encore? And why now—if not for the obvious reason.
