More Coincidences
There are a few places online where you can buy coffee mugs and t-shirts with slogans on them, saying something to the effect of, “I need new conspiracy theories…mine have all come true.”
I thought of that yesterday when news came that former Trump advisor and staunch Trump advocate Steven K. Bannon has been ordered to prison to serve a four-month sentence for Contempt of Congress.
Bannon is appealing his conviction on the charge, and the judge had allowed him to remain free while the appeal was taking place. That’s not uncommon. What was curious was the same judge this week reversing his ruling and ordering that Bannon serve the sentence beginning July 1…meaning that the person who hosts three or four hours of live television on Real America’s Network will be off the air in July, August, September, and October…the four months leading up to the November 5 general election.
What a stunning coincidence of timing.
I’m also struck this week by the number of those on the left who are repeating the “no one is above the law” mantra, in the wake of last week’s verdict in New York v. Trump. Will they say the same thing if the current president’s son is convicted of federal charges? President Biden is said to have already ruled out issuing clemency for his son if there is a guilty verdict.
That’s either going to lead to a lot of egg on a lot of faces…or they’re acting like they know something.
Probably just more conspiracy theories. But so many others have come true.
