BLACK HAWK COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG) – One person is dead, and another is injured after a crash in Black Hawk County around 10 p.m. Saturday night. Authorities say a motorcycle was traveling north on I-380 when it left the road and struck the barrier wall in the median. It then slid across the interstate onto the outside shoulder. One person died and one was injured. Authorities say names and ages of the victims are being withheld pending notification of family. The crash is under investigation.
JACKSON COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG) – One person was killed, and another was injured, after a crash in Jackson County early Sunday morning. It happened on Highway 52, north of Bellevue around 3:30 a.m. A vehicle was traveling northbound on Highway 52 when it crossed the centerline and struck a vehicle that was traveling southbound head on. One person was killed, another person was injured. Authorities say names of the victims are being withheld pending notification of family.
MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (KCRG) – Police in Marshalltown say one person is dead after a shooting early Saturday morning. Around 1:20 a.m., authorities were called to the Center Street Station bar at 19 North Center Street in Marshalltown after receiving a call about a shooting. Upon arrival, officials say they found an adult male with a gunshot wound. They say he received medical care on the scene before being transported to a medical facility. Police say the victim has died. The victim’s name is not being released at this time. So far, no arrests have been made. Officials say the incident is under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Marshalltown Police.
DES MOINES, Iowa (KCRG) – The Iowa Secretary of State’s Office says a felony conviction won’t impact whether Donald Trump’s name appears on Iowa ballots. Iowa law bars felons from holding office or appearing on a ballot. However, the Iowa Secretary of State’s Office told TV9 that this only applies to state office, not federal offices. A spokesman said the U.S. Constitution sets the requirements to run for federal offices and do not include any ban on convicted felons.
