Unfounded Fears

We’ve talked here before about this presidential election being a battle between two negatives…each side saying the world will come to an end, perhaps literally, if the other is elected.

The Democrats are using the same scare tactics against Donald Trump now that they did in 2016…most recently, that he will destroy the education system, that the rich will benefit while the poor suffer, and so on.

They used those tactics eight years ago…but yet Trump was elected, and all the “world coming to an end” things did not happen.

So how can they make the case that in a second Trump term, all their negative predictions will come true? After all, it didn’t happen before.

Ah, they say, but without the burden of running for re-election, he’ll be unchecked.

Perhaps, but you can easily say that same thing about any president heading into a second term…and you certainly can say it about Joe Biden, given how far to the left he has tried to govern in his first term…and how desperately he’s trying to backpeddle into the middle for this election. There’s not much positive that can be imputed to the Biden years.

So in this battle-to-the-bottom verbally, Biden’s crew claims Trump will do all these horrible things, despite predicting it before and having it not be true. Trump’s team claims the Biden record is horrible, and will only be more of the same—but worse—if he is re-elected.

Which seems more plausible?
