The renovated clock tower will incorporate a Prague-styled astronomical clock called an orloj, modeled after the oldest functional orloj in the world in the Old Town Hall in Prague. Once it’s done, it will be known as the Immigration Tower, and will include figurines made in Slovakia, depicting the Czech and Slovak migration story to the area. President and CEO of the NCSML Cecilia Rokusek says she hopes the tower will encourage visitors to consider their own immigration story. The National Czech and Slovak Museum and Library is also celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
