WATERLOO, Iowa (KCRG) – As many as six people were displaced after a fire in Waterloo on Monday morning. Firefighters responded to the fire at a building in the 400 block of Wellington Street. Officials said the building had four units, and is now a total loss after the fire. No one was injured. Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the fire. The Red Cross has been contacted to assist the people that were displaced.

ELDORA, Iowa (KCRG) – A 13-year-old girl was shot and killed in Eldora on Sunday. Law enforcement said police were called to the 800 block of 12th Street at around 5:30 p.m. for a report of a shooting. At the scene, police arrested a 12-year-old boy in connection with the shooting. The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is now assisting in the investigation. No additional details have been released in this case at this time. The teen who died was a student at South Hardin Middle School. The school released a statement about the incident on Facebook.

MUSCATINE, Iowa (KWQC/KCRG) – Iowa State Patrol has identified the woman killed after a side-by-side struck a deer Saturday night. According to the Iowa State Patrol, Elizabeth A. Hackett, 58, of Muscatine died from the crash, which happened just after 8 p.m. along Burlington Road in Muscatine. Three injured were taken to the University of Iowa Hospital. Troopers identified them as 30-year-old Nathan J Hackett and 33-year-old Jessica K. Weikert of Muscatine, and 33-year-old Gage D. Curry of Letts. ISP says four people were in the side-by-side when it struck a deer, went into the ditch, and rolled multiple times. The investigation is ongoing, troopers say.

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (Iowa’s News Now) – NOAA Weather Radio (NWR) station WXL61 in Cedar Rapids has been offline since Saturday, according to the National Weather Service office in the Quad Cities. Rich Kinney, the warning coordination meteorologist there, said replacement parts were ordered several weeks ago before the outage and technicians will prioritize repairing the station when those parts are available from the supplier.
